Philip Young, Priest of the Order of Melchizedek

Welcome

Jim, Linda, and his granddaughter, MayaMy name is Jim Hamrick and I love to fish. In fact, I have been accused of having more pictures of fish than I have of my own children!

I am the fifty-nine (59) year old Grandpa of Maya Athena Young and Morgan Joann and Jodie Ann White. I first became a grandpa on January 30, 2005 when Maya was born. It is my hope to pass my love of fishing to my grandchildren one day and to share my passion with you and yours by guiding you on fishing adventures. My fishing adventures started when I was five (5) and I have been loving the experience of catching fish ever since. Over the years I have been lucky enough to catch lots of fish and nothing, I mean nothing, beats the thrill of a hit to your fishing line.

Like any sport or hobby, there is a lot to learn and a lot to know. I've become very skilled at catching Bluegills, Crappies, Bass, and Pike on the inland lakes of Michigan as well as Chinook and Coho Salmon, Steel Head Trout, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout on Lake Michigan and its connecting rivers.

For the past fourteen (14) years I have been the Marine Department Manager and Big Water Specialist for Randy VanDam, owner of D and R Sports Center Inc in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Working in the retail fishing goods industry has put me in personal contact with some of the finest fisherman in the world, including Kevin VanDam, Al Linder, Bill Dance, and Randy himself. They have been generous enough to share their experience and knowlege with me so I am a more successful fisherman. I enjoy successful fishing days when many others come home empty handed.

Now, after many years of satisfying my own need to catch fish, I have discovered how much I really enjoy helping others catch fish. I want to share with others what I've learned and let new fishermen and women, boys and girls, experience the patience and thrill of catching fish. Basically, I've decided to start this fishing adventure business for three reasons:

  1. I enjoy the thrill of seeing a youngster catch his or her first fish.
  2. I want to share the adventures of being on the water with people who do not have the same opportunities that I have had.
  3. I want to fund my own fishing adventures by fishing!

After a twenty (20) year United States Air Force career, thirteen (13) years as Paid On Call Firefighter, and fourteen (14) years selling fishing equipment, I am looking forward to fishing more than I work. I hope you will join me on an adventure!
